Ordinal numerals in Jordanian Arabic: A morphosyntactic investigation

Abstract The purpose of this study is to discuss the morphosyntax ordinal numerals in Jordanian Arabic (JA). I show that JA do not belong a uniform category and argue they different syntactic morphological behaviours depending on their structural position inside extended nominal projection. In particular, pre-nominal ordinals are QPs can merge or outside DP, similar quantifier kull (Shlonsky, 1991; Benmamoun, 1999). On other hand, post-nominal adjectives projection (Corbett, 2004; Fassi-Fehri, 2018), adnominal JA. findings might distinct categories within same language position.
